Daft Punk are a French electronic music group that was formed between Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter in 1993.

In 1994, they attended a rave and met a co-founder of Soma Records by chance, where they ended up giving him their demo tape. This led to them getting signed on with Soma and releasing two singles, The New Wave and Da Funk. They also had an third, unreleased single titled Drive.

For over ten years, the song was kept away from the public until Soma released it as part of their "Soma Records: 20 Years" CD set in 2011.

Just listen to funk from the 60s and 70s as its probably another song they ripped from that era.

Not ripped, sampled. There's a huge difference.

If you're angry about sampling, theres way worse artists out their that you could be picking on.
