In 2007, the satellite provider DirecTV launched a special channel in cooperation with GSN on their service (channel 110) known as the Game Lounge. This interactive channel provided a variety of games that could be played with the DirecTV remote. The majority of games weren't available every day, and were cycled through the service via a daily schedule. The games were available either through a free trial period for each game, a pay-per-day service for unlimited play at $1.95 per day, or a monthly membership at $5.95 per month. DirecTV also occasionally offered "free weekends", allowing everyone with a DirecTV subscription to have unlimited play for the weekend.

Games that were on the service included ports of classic games such as Uno, as well as sponsored games from Cartoon Network, Mattel and Nickelodeon, some of which were exclusive to the service.

On March 6, 2013, the Game Lounge service was officially discontinued by DirecTV, with the main reason for discontinuation being cited as the rising popularity of computer and smartphone games.

It is very unlikely that any of the games will be recovered (unless DirecTV decides to relaunch the Game Lounge channel in the future). Footage/screenshots do not exist for all the games online.

I remember playing the Tak game and uno, and occasionally mahjong. I remember the menu being enitrely green. I remember the Tak game being a top-down platformer where tak would go from tile to tile collecting things while avoiding enemies. Very simple game. The uno and mahjong game are just your typical uno and mahjong. Nothing special

Used to play the Tank game where you'd fire at dogs or cats because they were at war. Then, I'd play Monopoly.

I'm fairly sure that Bell had something like this at one point too, but I can't find anything about it anywhere.

Might've actually been a Telus thing.

I remember playing a few of those games including some Barbie game. I switched to Dish two years ago and never knew this channel was taken down.
