Doraemon: Nobita no Doki Doki! Obake Land (ドラえもん のび太とドキドキ!おばけランド Doraemon: Nobita’s Pounding Heart! Ghostland)[1] is a cancelled 1996 action[2] Virtual Boy game based on the popular manga/anime Doraemon by Fujiko Fujio. The game was developed by Epoch and planned to released in March 1996 priced at 5,500 yen.[3]

Gameplay

The game would have Doraemon go through each stage by riding roller-coasters or bungee-jumps. Doraemon would also have to search for hidden tools and rescue his friends who were captured by ghosts. The game would also have five characters as playable characters, each with a unique attack.[4]

Availability

The game was cancelled due to Virtual Boy's failure. Only seven screenshots of the game exists and no prototypes or even other information of the game have surfaced.

Also, the game would be 5500 yen if it was released.

In the third screenshot, Nobita (the glasses-wearing boy) is saying: "Doraemon! Help!!"

No Reynard, that's Suneo, wh has round eyes, but doesn't wear glasses. Nobita is in the sixth screenshot.

The article mentioned that there were 5 playable characters with unique abilities, and that Doraemon had to save his friends. It is likely that these characters were unlockable, besides Doraemon because you start as him, because he has to save the other 4 main characters of the show. The 5 main characters are Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, and Gian. One of the screenshots shows Doraemon saving Suneo (Unlocking him). Their abilities likely would've been based off of the Doraemon SNES game, as that's where the sprites of the characters are taken from. Another screenshot shows Doraemon with the group, likely taken from the beginning or end of the game). These are only my guesses, though, as nothing else is known. "How'd I make these guesses?" I am a Doraemon expert.
