Jacob's ladder was a hit thriller/horror movie made in the 1990 and was known for it's disturbing imagery. In fact, test audiences found it to be too overwhelming and disturbing.

Which then was met with about 20 minutes of disturbing content removed so the responses would be more positive. Many bits and pieces of the deleted scenes were in the original trailers. Roughly three of the deleted scenes were added in the DVD release extras, but the other 8 are still lost which includes:

  1. Jacob is in the subway bathroom, and he finds a man raping another man.
  2. Jacob, during one of his delivery routines, he is seen eating a sandwich and reading a novel until he sees one of the delivery bags begin to move. In the original script states that there may have also have been a scene where a homeless man was sleeping in said bag, and Jacob takes him outside and gives him money.
  3. A mute Jacob tries to scream.
  4. In the beginning of the movie there is a cut sex scene between Jacob and Jezzie and Jacob explains how he has demons (Jacob's confession can be seen in one of the trailers).
  5. extended scene of a reptilian Jezzie dancing (a snippet of it can be seen in one of the trailers, but it is unknown how long the full cut was).
  6. A scene that shows one of the hell hospital's patients.
  7. Jacob is burning down the headquarters of the army with a torch (in Bravo's 100 scariest movie moments show a picture of Jacob holding the torch).
  8. Jacob finds Micheal's disembodied head while looking for him.
