Monster Allergy was an animated adaptation of an Italian comic book series by the same name, created and distributed by Disney's in-house comics publishers. (In fact, the same comics house that created W.I.T.C.H.) The show ran for a total of 52 episodes across two seasons. The Italian media conglomerate Rainbow SRL/S.P.A.[1] were responsible for its creation and its overseas distribution, and Iginio Straffi (best known for his creation and direction of Winx Club) served as animation director over the two seasons.

The protagonist, Zick Barrymore, is a boy with multiple allergies who discovers his ability to see the invisible monsters that live amongst humanity. Together with his friend Elena, they seek to learn more about the secret world of monsters, and even catch and tame some of them.

Airing from 2005 onwards in various international markets, the show ran into a few issues with its English localisation. Its first English dub was produced by Warner Bros.,[2] who announced that they had picked it up for their Saturday morning[3] Kids WB programming block on The CW channel in 2005. (Although it only started airing in late 2006.) The show was also seen in the US on Cartoon Network.[4] With the cancellation of the Kids WB programming block in 2007,[5] however, a new dub was commissioned.

The Kids WB dub has become exceedingly rare, as it was eventually replaced by the new English dub produced by Rainbow S.P.A. and used in all international English-speaking markets since; the show is available on Netflix services in many different countries, all of which use the Rainbow S.P.A. dub instead of the Kids WB dub. As well as Netflix, the Rainbow dub is also available (as ripped episodes) in its entirety on YouTube, and was syndicated on Disney Channel Asia as recently as 2009.[6]

An episode of the show is available on Monster Allergy's official English website,[7] but it is (most likely) the Rainbow dub. The Movie Database[8] has information on the cast of the Kids' WB dub.

Wonder how lost the 4Kids Funky Cops dub is considered to be ever since a new English dub was commissioned for it. Haven't been able to find it on Youtube. Shame, because it was surprisingly good and full of inappropriate for a kid's show jokes.

Are the 4Kids Funky Cops episodes rare? I have the Christmas episode on tape from when it was on the Fox Box.

There is no lost English dub. The Kids WB version is the Rainbow SPA dub but pretty much with some lines re-recorded due to American citizenship and with some scenes cut for time. To my knowledge, the theme song was relatively the same but was cut short so that only the Monster Allergy chorus was played. Zeke sounded exactly like his original VA Holly Gauthier-Frankel. And if you check some archives of some ToonZone posts back when MA was airing on Kids WB, you can see that people have commented about how Zeke's VA is still Holly and how an original line "Holy spit" was re-recorded as "Holy sneeze" for the Kids WB version. Just wanted to clear things up.
