Nickelodeon Magazine's Big 10 Birthday Bash is a TV special that aired on Nickelodeon on August 17, 2003. The half-hour-long special, hosted by Candace Bailey, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Nickelodeon Magazine. The special included favorite stories from past issues and a preview of the next issue in the form of a crossword puzzle. No footage had ever appeared on the internet of this special until April 1, 2017, when the special was uploaded in its entirety by Lost Media Wiki user, SpooferJahk.

Discoveries

An IMDb page for the special exists, but little more than a brief plot, cast list and date can be read.[1], an archived Nick.com web page describes the special in great detail.[2] a YouTube video detailing the magazine contains one page inside that details the special and its airdate and airtime.[3] On December 21st, 2016, Lost Media Wiki User Luray has found 2 screenshots of animated segments from the special found on an article by broadcastnewsroom.com. In addition, the special includes birthday wishes from Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Jeff Gordon and Shaquille ONeal. [4]

Writers note - LarryInc64:

I'm still putting this together; I remember wanting to watch this but getting the time zones wrong and missing the entire thing, just getting the last bit, with the host thanking people for watching in front of a crowd, I think it might have been live. I should still have that 10th birthday issue somewhere; there should be more info inside of it.

Full Special (Raw VOB Download)

Founder's Note: Ripped from my own VHS recording of it, might be missing about a minute or two from the beginning but the whole special is indeed intact, including the Weird Al performance. Should also note there are slight audio glitches in certain parts of the recording due to age, but it is still very watchable.

I think I remember seeing it one more time after the premiere but I'm not sure. I had recorded the weird al portion to vhs with a few other al related TV appearances from that year, unfortunately I lost that tape years ago. I know the audio (and probably video) exists among weird al fans - maybe start there?

I made a post in the forums, but I found the special on a VHS tape I recorded back when it premiered. It is at least 99% intact, just might be missing the first minute or two and that is about it. Aside from that it is the full special with the Weird Al performance and everything.

Congratulations on finding this long-lost 10th anniversary special of Nickelodeon Magazine! It was nice of you to share your VHS recording of the special when it first premiered in 2003. Despite your complaints about a few audio problems, I had none of those problems when watching it and it was generally a fun special to watch. Thanks again for uploading it! :)

Oh no problem, ever since I saw this article I wanted to find it for my own nostalgia and to upload to the web, mainly for the Weird Al performance since it was never uploaded online as far as I was aware. The audio glitches I referred to were a few buzzes that I sadly was not expecting thanks to the age and quality of the tape I used. Like I said, was not an expert tape recorder at 11 years old at that time. :P
