SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge is a 2001 platformer game developed by Climax Group and published by THQ and Nickelodeon for the PlayStation and Game Boy Advance. The game combined 2D characters and 3D backgrounds.

A Nintendo 64 port was allegedly planned, but ultimately never came. Two likely reasons for the supposed port's cancellation include the limitations of the N64 and the fact that the GameCube would be released less than two months after the game's release.

It's unknown if this port went past panning stages or if it was even planned to begin with at this time.

I don't think this ever existed. I have the game's entire development archives and there's no mention of an N64 version.

Now that you mention that, I tried a Google search on an N64 port of this just now, and the only sources I can find are Wikipedia (which has no source to anything confirming it), this site http://histr...ndo-64-games (which I'm pretty sure is just using Wikipedia as a source), and like one or two other sites that even mention it (and just copy-pasted the info from Wikipedia)...

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask other people about the alleged N64 port on that forum, but I think I may just leave this as "Existence unconfirmed" for now.

(Also, I don't think I've seen such a large and comprehensive amount of resurfaced prototypes for any other game before...)

The art style in this game reminds me of a Spongebob game I used to have for the Gameboy Advanced.

Maybe it could have been unreleased due to copyright issues.
