Spongebob: Truth or Square (PC)
Status Lost

SpongeBob's Truth or Square is an arcade party game based on the Spongebob Squarepants animated series one-hour special of the same name. Released on October 26th, 2009, it was Microsoft Windows-exclusive.

Premise

SpongeBob has lost the Krabby Patty recipe and is in despair; Plankton, wanting to find this formula and get it for himself, uses a memory machine to make SpongeBob relive his memories.

Loss

The game used to be on Nick Arcade and Shockwave, however, Shockwave removed it (along with many other lost SpongeBob games), and Nick Arcade was later deleted from Nickelodeon's website.

Not many people are known to have bought it, which makes it so hard to find.

I think I might have had this game on my old computer. I never was able to get it running though, so I'm not sure if it's the right one. My old computer is broken too, so I can't check

So i went on the nick arcade site on the Wayback machine, I found a free trial and clicked on it, And to my surprise it worked!. I installed it and went to click on it And i got this http://imgur...lery/xfWyBXM Now i do know that others have had download links and all that, But the thing is they are all taken down. So who knows if someone can get this to work, The only thing i have right now is a free trial that does not work and all of the game files http://imgur...lery/1VKchCz I might put the free trial up for download sometime if people are interested.

When you are opening it up. The Play button for the trial is under 30 minutes (Which is invisible)

Great news! i managed to get the game open. It seems that the play button was invisible, I had to move my mouse around just to find it. When i clicked on it, i got a loading box that said Spongebob Squarepants Truth or Square. When it loaded, I got presented with the nickelodeon logo as well as spongebob talking about how great the game is. Then!...............Nothing. Just a white screen, I waited for up to 20 minutes But still, Nothing. It seems gameplay of this game is still out of reach for now.

Shouldn't the article's name be changed to SpongeBob: Truth or Square (Lost Nick Arcade Game; 2009) to make it more clearer what the article is talking about?

It would also help people avoid confusion with the PC version of the game that is still selling on Amazon.com and not the lost Nick Arcade game the article is supposed to be talking about.

I have this game on my old computer. I have very clear memories of playing it. (I remember really enjoying the game! I never had anyone to play with, so i ended up just playing against myself for hours.) I'll have to take a look and see if it's still there when i get the chance. I had no idea this was considered a piece of lost media.

It's difficult to explain, but the whole thing was sort of a board game style game where you could set traps for other players. Like in the episode/(movie?) Truth or Square, it took place in the pipe systems. There was like minigames inbetween rounds or something? I think they might have been activated by the happiness meter, also? The minigames were based on events in the episode or other episodes.

Anyway, i'll make an update later.
