Super Mario Bros. (C64 port)
Status Existence Unconfirmed

Supposedly, a little known game company Orpheus was going to make a port of Super Mario Bros. for the Commodore 64 in 1986 (not to be confused with the version that would eventually become Giana Sisters), but Nintendo denied them a license and the port was never made.

Little is known about the game, and it's likely that they didn't even make anything for it outside of a possible demo level. The only reference to this game is the Games That Weren't 64 article.[1]

Maybe if you read the article, you would see that it specifically says "(not to be confused with the version that would eventually become Giana Sisters)"

AND BEHOLD!

The only existing footage of the Commodore version of Super Mario Bros!

https://yout...mao?t=13m43s

It starts at 13:43, this low quality video its all that remains of this version that has been lost in time sadly, some people MAY say its a fake and it was just a romhack of Giana sisters, however, in the one posted on the video, there's no score, and the music seems to be different.

The footage you linked is a hack of the game "Giana Sisters" for the Commodore 64. I could tell by the music and the coins they used, and the level design. They literally just switched out the Giana Sisters sprites with the Mario Bros. ones.

Also, it's possible they just removed the code for the scores.

I saw a video on YouTube ages ago that was a Mario game for C64 and it was just titled BROS. Wasn't the Giana Sisters reskin.
