The Noids (Cancelled CBS Animation Series; 1988)

The Noids
Status Cancelled/Lost

The Noids is a cancelled 1988 Saturday morning cartoon based on a character featured in the Domino's Pizza commercials in mid-late 1980's. The show would have featured a group of Noids, engaged in various situations designed to underscore the characters' inclination to misadventure.[1]

The show was meant to air in the 1988-89 fall schedule on CBS. However, the project was cancelled amid complaints that it was merely an advertising ploy and not a show for children. Additionally, the infamous Kenneth Lamar Noid incident, where Noid held up a Domino's restaurant under the assumption the mascot was made to specifically mock him, has likely sealed the show's fate forever.

No other information of the show has surfaced.

Also there may have been controversy because Domino's Pizza had to retire the Noid mascot due to a mentally ill man attacking employees at a Domino's outlet, his paranoia leading him to believe that the Noid was based on him

This is stupid... reminds me of that man called Badi who wanted to sue Bill Clinton because Clinton had a dog called Buddy and Badi thought he named the dog after him.

And the reason they cut ties was because the ad company was asking for to much money

it was probably not because of mr. noid, because the 1988 - 1989 schedule had already ended by dec of 1989, which was when the incident happened.

Domino's Pizza is now just "Domino's" because they are "More than just pizza" (pasta, sandwiches, etc.).

They weren't my favorite and also Little Caesar's along with Papa Murphy's are both my favorite places for pizza.

On the second to last paragraph of the newspaper article, it mentions something about a children's show based on the Garbage pail kids that got shelved before airing.

That show was released on DVD and was aired overseas, but was "banned" from broadcasting in the US simply because of its source material.

Here, have a place to buy the series from: http://www.b...12&loc=1

Although you can sometimes see the show itself on YT.
