Sometime in the year 2000, Konami has teamed up with iNiS Corporation, Hands On Entertainment Inc., and Oracion to develop a typing video game based on the Beatmania series; it was known as Beatmania DA!! (sometimes confused with the PS2 version of the game known as Beatmania DA!! DA!! DA!!).

A sequel to this game, known as "Beatmania BEST DA!!", was released in the same year, plus a PS2 version based on this game was released in 2002.

Similar to the arcade Beatmania games, it instead it uses the keyboard as a controller for this version. Most of the songs are based on the arcade version, but modified to make it different for the keyboard.

For years, no copies of the game were uploaded/found on the internet. However, a handful of videos about the game has been made available on the internet. On August 16, 2016, the game can be found here

Differences from the arcade version

  • The game runs on 640xx480 screen resolution, as opposed to 512x384.
  • The Konami logo doesn't show up in the game.
  • It was the only PC game in the Beatmania series (as opposed to Bemani DJ-Main arcade hardware, the Bemani Twinkle, and the Bemani PC hardware) to be released, until Beatmania IIDX INFINITAS, which was released on December 1st, 2015.
  • The songs were tweaked for keyboards to make it familiar to keyboard users, as opposed to the controls in the arcade version.
