Toho's 1962 international trailer for King Kong vs. Godzilla

King Kong vs. Godzilla is the third Godzilla film released by Toho Studios and was originally released in Japan on 11 August 1962. The film would later be dubbed and edited (trimming it's run time from 97 minutes to 91 minutes) by John Beck (US producer for the film) and premiere in the United States on 26 June 1963.

While John Beck was given exclusive rights to the film in non-Asian territories (he would later sell these rights to Universal), Toho retained the rights within Asia and, in 1963, Toho began advertising an English-dub of King Kong vs. Godzilla in their international sales booklets, since these booklets also advertised the Toho-commissioned and uncut English dubs of films such as Atragon, it is believed that this advertisement was for an uncut dub of King Kong vs. Godzilla. However, since this English-dub has never been released on home video, it is unknown if it was an unedited English dub or if Toho just sold the US English dub to English speaking Asian territories.

Despite this, Toho's international trailer for the movie does exist and is available on YouTube, but it is currently unknown if it is truly a trailer for a Toho-commissioned English dub or if it was only the trailer that was dubbed for promotional purposes.
