Riders In The Sky was a 1991 children's television series on CBS. The show was named after the stars of the series, the country/western band Riders In The Sky. The series was canceled after low ratings and constant schedule changes on CBS for Saturday mornings. It only had one season consisting of 13 episodes, and was never released on home media, making the entire show lost.

Series Overview

A Pee Wee's Playhouse-like children's show, the series focused on the lives of the members of Riders In The Sky on their home of Harmony Ranch in Tumbleweed Valley. The Riders would interact with other residents of Tumbleweed Valley (a combination of puppets and real people) and occasionally guest stars would pass through. Near the end of the end of the episode, a segment called "The Adventures of Riders In The Sky" would play. The segment was a parody of movie serials of the 1930's and 40's and would end on a cliffhanger to be picked up next week. Most of the segments were in two parts. All episodes were directed by Gary Halvorson.
