Status: Partially Lost

In 2009 Disney and Pixar theatrically re-released Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D as a double feature as part of a marketing campaign for the then-upcoming Toy Story 3. Due to the almost three-hour combined run time of Toy Story and Toy Story 2, Disney and Pixar created two different intermissions, one five minutes in length and the other 10 minutes in length, hosted by the characters of both films, to be played between Toy Story and Toy Story 2. This was done to allow moviegoers to take a break between movies without missing any portions of the main features.

Introduction

Before the start of Toy Story; Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys introduce themselves and explain how the intermission would work, in Mystery Science Theater 3000-style silhouette.

Intermission

Following the credits of Toy Story; the characters are happy with what they just saw. In one corner of the screen there is either a five-minute or a 10-minute timer that counts down to the start of Toy Story 2. During the intermission, they play trivia about the events, characters, and production of both films. At the end of the intermission, they prepare to watch Toy Story 2, again in MST3K-style silhouette. Listed below are the ordered events of intermissions and prologues taken from a review of the "feature" from it's release date.

Availability

During release, theaters had the choice of either using the five-minute or ten-minute intermission. At the end of the release run, theaters had to return the hard drive containing the movie and files to Disney. Since the intermissions were made specifically for the double feature release of Toy Story and Toy Story 2, it has not seen a home release. With the difficulty of pirating a 3D movie and the prior commercial home media releases of both movies, it is unlikely that someone made a bootleg of the intermission.

The Quiz's Possible Hiding Place

Through the link that will be offered down below a review of the the double feature and intermission has revealed something interesting. The page claims that the quiz part of the intermission was posted on to Disney's official website for Toy Story. The time of this being posted was in late April of 2010 and it states that it was posted during late April. There is also a photo of the actual quiz next to it. There is a possibility that it was only meant to be released for the launch of Toy Story 3, a good time frame to when it was released is in between April until September of 2010 "the height of the film". Clicking the link inside the link to the page down below will lead you to the modern Toy Story page. It is possible to find the long lost quiz through The WayBack Machine but saved pages are scarce and non responsive leading for the find of the quiz very difficult.
