Type O Negative were a gothic metal band, formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1989. The band produced seven studio albums, and were famous for their dark lyrics and dry, but prominent, sense of humor. Their most successful singles were "Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All)" from the 1993 album Bloody Kisses and "Love You To Death" from the 1996 album October Rust, among others. They were active up until the death of frontman Peter Steele on April 14th, 2010. His death was a result of a heart attack triggered by an aortic aneurysm.

On January 26th, 1994, the band played a show at The Industry in Manchester, New Hampshire,[1] featuring a previously unreleased song dubbed "If She Loved Me"[2] by fans, due to its repeated lyric, "If she loved me she'd be here right now".

The song was reportedly played live a few times following this show, but no studio version has ever surfaced. However, as the song was played live during the era of the album Bloody Kisses, it has long been rumored that a studio version was recorded but left off the album, or a demo was produced but left unfinished.

In 2009, Bloody Kisses was re-released as Bloody Kisses: The Top Shelf Edition by Roadrunner Records, featuring a bonus disc of B-sides and rarities from the Bloody Kisses era.[3] "If She Loved Me" was not included on the album, leading some to believe that the song was not recorded at all.

Following Peter's death, various Type O Negative albums have been re-released, but none have featured "If She Loved Me", nor have the remaining members of the band commented on its existence.
