Hey James, Zentanith and I have talked on a couple of occasions. I wrote an article for the NintendoAge e-zine interviewing him which you can read here (bear in mind: I was just starting High School at the time, so it's not written very well): https://archive.org/details/NAEZIssue102011/page/n1/mode/2up .

He told me that he was only involved in Action 52's development for two months, but that doesn't totally discount his answer. I know that he remains in contact with a few of the other devs, and that they've even met up at one point. As for the SNES version being in the works, I highly doubt it, as the Genesis version of Action 52 was entirely developed by Far Sight Technologies (now Far Sight Studios). Again, I don't know for sure, but if Jay Olbernote is saying it wasn't started, well then I'm led to believe it wasn't started. My personal opinion is that Sports 5 is the real "hidden treasure" here, as it was confirmed to be worked on, and in a "barely playable state." I'd love to be proven wrong, however.
