I understand a bit of Japanese, so I can translate some things, particually the merchandise. The second book is called an "Exciting Book" (maybe a fanbook of some sort). The case with the characters on it is a bonus gift, or furoku, for a magazine called "Mebae", a magazine aimed at preschoolers that is still running today. The front of the case calls it "Kokki's Bag", so it's actually a bag.
