==Synopsis==
The series is comprised of episodes roughly 4-5 minutes in length. Each story revolves around the adventures of George, who lives with The Man in the Yellow hat who initially brought him home from Africa. In nearly every episode, George causes trouble but recompenses for his mistakes with a good deed.

==Releases==
Lafferty, Harwood and Partners Ltd., the company that provided the majority of the funding, illegally gave the series' rights to various media distribution companies. Sony was the first company to manufacture tapes with some of the episodes. The episodes were given educational releases by several distributers. Most notably among its educational releases, Lucerne Films (later renamed Lucerne Media) released all of the episodes on several media formats. One known DVD release with 12 episodes was made by New Video Group in 2004 (not to be confused with the ''Curious George Rides a Bike'' DVD feature made by the same company in the same year.) A number of other media companies released episodes of the series throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

==Lawsuit==
In 1991, Margaret Rey, co-creator and partial right holder of ''Curious George'', won a lawsuit against Lafferty Harwood and Partners. LHP provided funding for 72 of the 104 episodes that were made, and as part of the agreement were granted televised rights to the series. Extending their rights to third-party companies that distributed physical media copies of the series, LHP was charged with copyright infringement and was successfully sued for $300,000 in damages.<ref>https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/appellate-courts/F2/990/1379/434303/</ref>
