Status: Partially Found

La Rosa de Guadalupe is a Mexican TV show created by Carlos Mercado Orduña in 2008. It centers around contemporary Mexican life, while also touching on themes such as: drug addiction, sexual harassment, and pop culture. Despite the show’s popularity, it has been widely criticized for its bland acting, poor handling of current trends, and its direct attacks on many communities.

Controversy

On July 12th, 2012, in the state of Mexico, El Campamento Colibrí was the victim of an attack conducted by an armed group comprised of 12 people. Approximately 90 people at the camp were attacked; With 7 teens being tortured, sexually harassed, and robbed of their personal belongings. The perpetrators of the attack were soon caught and subsequently prosecuted. This tragic event served as the inspiration of an episode titled: Adiós Inocencia. Which translates to: "Goodbye Innocence," in English.

When the sneak-peek aired on August 10th, 2012, the parents of the victims sent various complaints to the president of Televisa, Emilio Ascarraga. The parents protested the studio's decision to air the episode, demanding it not be aired. As a result, the episode never saw the light of day. Despite this, some claim that the episode did air at a later date, during mid 2013 or 2014, but this has not been confirmed.

Episode Synopsis

"Carolina and Magda attend a camping site where they thought they would have a great time. It turned out to be quite the opposite. They wound up in a living hell when a group of criminals assaulted the camp site and raped the girls, one of them being Magda."

"4 years had passed since that terrible period in their lives. Carolina has been full of hatred and resentment. Until one day she casually finds the rapist and makes a decision: revenge."

"Carolina's plan is to torture and then kill him. Only a miracle can save her from the anger that consumes her life."

The only fragment available is the initial sneak-peek. The current status of the episode is unknown as it has not been confirmed if Televisa still has a copy of the episode, or if they were destroyed. Considering the initial controversy that surrounded the episode, it's unlikely to resurface any time soon.
