Marvel's Most Wanted was a planned action television show that would have tied into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Revolving around ex-S.H.I.E.L.D agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter as they try to uncover a conspiracy against them, the show would have been a spin-off of the popular television show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Despite the show's massive appeal, ABC opted to develop other television shows with Marvel Studios instead. The pilot has never aired.
Background
With the Marvel Cinematic Universe being very successful and with the success of tie-in television shows such as Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. In 2015, Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood signed on to star in an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off. The new show would be written and directed by Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski.[1] Filming for Marvel's Most Wanted began in early 2016 with Billy Gierhart directing.[2]
Plot
Marvel's Most Wanted followed ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) as they run from a series of enemies that try to claim them for bounty. Soon, both make an uneasy alliance with Dominic Fortune (Delroy Lindo) as he is the only one who is willing to help them fight off enemies and uncover the conspiracy against them.
Cancellation
Despite being seen as a show that was destined to be picked up, in May of 2016, ABC passed on Marvel's Most Wanted, citing the fact that the executives were not pleased with the final product.[3] Along with ABC opting to pass on Marvel's Most Wanted, ABC also canceled Agent Carter but continued with Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Availability
As the writing of this article, the pilot of Marvel's Most Wanted has yet to air. The only pieces of media that have been released are promotional material. In an interview in June of 2018, head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb when asked about the pilot for Marvel's Most Wanted, he stated:
Thats an ABC question. We can't release it. It's sooo good.[4]
