OK Soda (lost marketing VHS tape for discontinued fizzy drink; 1994)
OK Soda is a fizzy drink created by the Coca-Cola company in 1993 that was targeted for people born in the 1960s (aka generation X). To emphasize this, the drink's commercials and overall design were unlike anything seen in sodas, with details such as having a unnerving tone and its only use of colors being black, white, grey and red.
The drink ended up being discontinued in 1995 due to poor sales in test markets and has since never been brought back. While most material made for OK soda can be found online, there is a VHS tape meant for marketing purposes that to this day, has not resurfaced.
Content
The tape's length runs at 10 minutes and is described as having the same style and energy as the drink's marketing, outside of this, no other details are known.[1]
Availability
As of now, there is only one known copy of the tape in existence, with it being owned by Reddit user Ok_Tumbleweed_7146, who posted pictures of it in multiple Sub-Reddits.[2][3] However, despite him stating that he will digitize it and post it online, this seems to have never occured, as the tape's owner stopped posting about it in 2023.[4] Rendering the VHS as completely lost.
