Power Gig: Rise of the SixString is a peripheral reliant rhythm game developed by Seven45 Studios and released in the United States on October 19th, 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game is similar to the "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero" franchises, where instrument inspired controllers are used to play along to a variety of licensed music. The biggest selling point for the game was that it used a real six string guitar as it's controller, with marketing touting that this made the game a superior experience to it's competitors. For a variety of reasons, the game sold poorly and was universally panned by critics. Further development on the franchise was dropped only a few months after release, and Seven45 Studios never released another console game. Before the game even released, it was said that there would be new DLC songs "released regularly" starting the week of November 22nd, 2010,[1] but presumably due to the game's poor reception this quickly fell through. Only two DLC packs are currently known by the public.

The Alternative Rock Pack was released December 21st, 2010. This introduced the songs "Beer" by Reel Big Fish, "Dashboard" by Modest Mouse, and "The Impression That I Get" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones as playable in-game. The songs were available to be purchased in a bundle of three or individually.[2] The exact date is unknown, but it appears both the bundle and individual tracks were delisted very shortly after it's initial release.[3][4] "Beer" is the only song of the three known to have footage of it being played in-game.[5]

The Weezer Pack introduces three Weezer songs as playable in-game; "Hashpipe", "Perfect Situation", and "Surf Wax America".[6] It is unknown if this pack was ever released, but it seems implied that it was going to be the first DLC pack and then was postponed indefinitely.[7][8]
