Status: Partially Found

Strider Hiryu (ストライダー飛竜) is a video game franchise developed by Capcom. It was planned as a tie-in with the Motomiya Kikaku manga and was to be released for the Famicom in 1988, but for unknown reasons the Japanese release was cancelled. It was later released only in the West.

The cancelled Famicom version was the original version that followed the manga, and the 1989 arcade version was an offshoot of the original.

Prototype ROM

A prototype ROM was listed on Yahoo Auction on September 9, 2011. Another prototype ROM was then listed on March 25, 2014. NintendoAge user Arasoi managed to win the prototype ROM from the Yahoo auction and put it online on August 2, 2014.[1] However, the ROM was buggy and difficult to control, and the last boss was glitched in the background, making it impossible to complete.

Regional Differences

The Japanese prototype ROM had a number of clear differences from the North American release in the title screen, enemy graphics, and dialog.
