The Game Room was a video game review web series that ran from November 11th, 1999[1] to October 23rd, 2000[2] on the short-lived FromUSAlive.com, a website specializing in exclusive web shows. The Game Room was notable for possibly being the first video game review show on the internet. It was co-hosted by Mark Bussler and David Crosson whose antics played off of the games they reviewed. They reviewed both new and old games alike.
The Cancellation
In October of 2000, The Game Room was canceled. The Game Room's website (projectgames.com) stayed online until sometime in 2007.
The Revival
In 2007, Mark Bussler began to remaster and upload episodes of The Game Room to YouTube.[3] This was the same year he released a documentary on the show, "Classic Game Room: The Rise and Fall of the Internet's Greatest Video Game Review Show."[4] It was around this time that Mark brought about the successor to The Game Room, "The Classic Game Room", although this time as a solo review show starring himself.
The Lost Episodes
While Mark Bussler ended up uploading almost every episode of The Game Room to his YouTube channel where they remain to this day, at least nine episodes were inexplicably left out. These episodes have not been seen since their initial availability on FromUSAlive.com and The Game Room website, projectgames.com.
Availability
Most of the lost episodes were once available to download in four different resolutions on projectgames.com for a few years after their initial release on FromUSAlive (except the "Elmo's Number Journey" episode). It is unknown if these downloads were functional for this entire period, however. It is possible that someone who downloaded the videos back when they were still online still has them. In addition to this, Mark Bussler has been shown to keep an archive of show footage in his "Classic Game Room Re-Making of OMEGA BOOST lost review" video.[5] Although, it is unknown if he still has the lost episodes in it. All that remains of the lost episodes are very short snippets of the episodes "Elmo's Number Journey", "Pac Man", and "Virtua Striker 2 for Dreamcast" that were shown in the aforementioned documentary from 2007.
