Oswald was a children's animated show that ran on Nick Jr. block from 2001 to 2005. The show re-aired up to 2013 when it was removed from the Nick Jr. lineup.
Around 2001-2003, in order to promote Oswald and another show very popular at the time, The Osbournes, a commercial parody was made depicting Oswald characters as the Osbourne family being dubbed by audio clips from them, including censored swearing. At the end of the commercial, a parody logo was showcased, possibly being named "The Oswalds".
Description
It is known that Oswald was dubbed over by Ozzy Osbourne and that Weeny was dubbed over by Sharon Osbourne. It is unknown if other characters were showcased and dubbed over. Clips were used from both shows and combined together to create the commercial. There is a theory that Oswald had glasses and Ozzy Osbourne-style hair, but it has not been fully debunked or confirmed as there is no solid evidence for that, nor the actual commercial to prove that.
Oswald may have been singing songs by Ozzy Osbourne at the end of the commercial like "Iron Man."
Availability
The ad aired around the time popularity of both shows peaked. The commercial, however, was never recorded or pictured possibly due to the limited time the ad may have been aired.
According to a July 2002 newsgroup post [1], the ad aired on the Nick channel.
The possibility that it has been aired on MTV is believed. Though the Kids' Choice Awards may have aired the commercial, but it has not been confirmed, making the channel the commercial aired unknown. The time it aired is also unknown, as most forgot when it happened and whether it happened during the day or night.
Search Efforts
The ad was generally unknown for a very long period of time till posts about solving the mystery for it were made on forums, with a variety of posts made across recalling seeing the commercial.[2]
At an unknown date, YouTuber "Seeker of The Lost" contacted the creator of Oswald, who confirmed that the commercial did exist. He also suggested that it may have aired on a Nickelodeon event, which drew some new leads for the search.
Attention for searching the commercial slowed down due to the search hitting dead ends. No content or pieces of media of the commercial has been found, and the only sources that it may exist are people who have claimed to have seen it.
Lost Media Wiki forums user "furbyisland" suggested it may have aired on the Noggin block premiere/restructure on April 7th, 2003.[3] This drew some new leads. Not only that but the block was described as "teen-oriented" and would've made sense to have aired a commercial like that on the block. Timestamps to when it aired may have been from afternoon to night. Unfortunately, this day has never been archived or recorded as of right now.
