The Substitute (1993) (not be confused with the 1996 film starring Tom Berenger) is a TV movie that was produced for the USA network in 1993. It was directed by Martin Donovan and written by David S. Goyer under his pseudonym Cynthia Verlaine.[1]

The film debut of Mark Wahlberg, who at the time was still known as pop-rapper "Marky Mark". The film is about a high school English teacher who goes on a killing spree after her husband cheats on her.

Availability

This TV movie has never been released on home video in the United States, though it had been released on VHS (albeit in dubbed and/or subtitled versions) in Argentina (as La sustituta), Germany (as Exitus) and Japan.

Around early 2017, an anonymous user found the movie on the website Prime Wire.

On August 26th, 2020, MermaidGal98 uploaded the entire film on YouTube.
