Virtual Magic Kingdom (alternately Villains' Night Out) is a cancelled video game developed by Disney Interactive. In 1998, the game was scrapped in favor of a new project repurposing the villain encounters in Fantasyland, released as Disney's Villains' Revenge.

Plot[edit | edit source]

The player is invited to a Disney theme park as a special nighttime guest. Mickey Mouse welcomes you with a magical show, but the magic accidentally awakens Maleficent, who spreads evil magic across the park. The player must traverse the park, fixing the damage done by villains made alive.

Sections[edit | edit source]

The game was intended to be released on multiple CD-ROMs. According to interviews conducted by Pop History, the Frontierland section was fully completed. At least two demonstrations were made to Michael Eisner and other Disney senior management.[1]

Several pieces of concept art and early asset screenshots have been published by ex-Disney artists, and full storyboards are confirmed to still exist.[2][3]
