Status: Lost

Wyeth Philippines aired a PSA about invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in 2005. An IPD is an infection caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae, which is also called the pneumococcus. S. pneumoniae is a common member of the bacterial flora colonizing the nose and throat of 5–10% of healthy adults and 20–40% of healthy children.[1]

Info

A PSA features three consecutive happy babies fading out from the existence. The first two babies are shown lying on a blanket; and the last baby is shown going on a picnic and holding a red balloon before disappearing. There is a shot showing bare buttocks with a check mark sign on it. There is a female voice-over on it, who states "The traitor's disease is IPD. It kills babies, every year."

Availability

The PSA was aired in late 2005 and, currently, there is no copy of this PSA on the Internet. However, its promotional poster about IPD was found.[2] It was said to be aired on ABS-CBN primetime shows such as TV Patrol and Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. The PSA was discussed on Facebook pages, where the viewers only gave little information.[3][4]
