Status: Lost

The 1939 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was the 16th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and was held on November 23rd, 1939, in New York City and was shown to viewers live on some local NBC radio stations. Interestingly enough, there was a television broadcast as well.

Availability

It should come as no suprise that the 1939 Parade is considered a piece of lost media, being locally broadcasted on an NBC station in New York. In addition, no form of TV recording existed back then, even professionally. The only surviving evidence of the 1939 Parade's existence is of one behind the scenes image.
