A Japanese VHS rip of the SpaceWorld 1999 gameplay trailer

64 Wars was a cancelled entry in the "Wars" series (known for Advance Wars). Hudson started developing the game in the late 90s, although they technically did not yet own the trademark. The game was showcased a single time at SpaceWorld 1999. Luckily, a VHS rip exists online. From the gameplay, you can see that the game would have possessed similar gameplay to the other games in the series. The game was to have land, sea and air battles. The game was slated for release on the January 29, 1999.

The game was also to be compatible with GameBoy Wars 2, as the players could connect their game to an N64 using the GameBoy Transfer Pack in order to access several features, such as the ability to transfer match progress between the systems.

The menu for this function still appears in GameBoy Wars 2, yet it cannot be used. The game never saw a release, and no explanation was offered, regarding the game's cancellation.
