Abunai Sisters: Koko & Mika was a series of CGI shorts created in Japan to promote tabloid celebrities Kyoko and Mika Kano, starring the two sisters as secret agents.

Distribution

The show was distributed by Pony Canyon[1] and produced by Production I.G., famous for their work on anime such as Eden of the East, Ghost in The Shell, and FLCL, among many others. Early reception of the shorts was universally negative due to the poor quality of the CGI animation and the writing, which consisted mainly of jokes about the lead characters' large breasts. The Kano sisters were guests at Otakon in 2008, where they announced the anime project.[2][3][4]

The shorts ran on Japanese satellite network AT-X, but only the first two were ever shown and pulled after only one month on the air. The show was originally dubbed into English, with no Japanese audio track (but subtitled in Japanese.) Ten episodes were produced in total. Thus eight episodes were lost.

Availability

A single DVD of the full show exists, but it is hard to find and expensive due to poor sales (Despite offering bonuses such as figurines, discounts and shout-outs in the credits to the first 500 people to preorder the DVD, reports say that it only ever sold 265 copies.)[5]

On July 23rd, 2016 the whole series was uploaded onto Nyaa Torrents; though the original torrent is missing from the Pantsu Nyaa archive, a mirror of it is available to download below. A YouTuber compiled the entire series into one video, which could be viewed down below, but has since deleted.
