'''Al-Shamshoon '''(Arabic: '''الشمشون''') was an adaptation of long-running American TV series ''The Simpsons'' for Arab audiences. The adaptation was dubbed in Arabic (although The Simpsons could and still can be viewed subtitled in Arabic) and had many changes, like character name changes, beer becoming soda, donuts becoming kahk (pronounced like "cake"), and many other edits. The edited series premiered in 2005 on the Middle East Broadcasting Channel, just in time for Ramadan, which is a time of high TV viewership. 52 episodes in total were localized, with 34 airing, leaving 18 dubbed episodes unaired. These episodes didn't air because the series didn't fare well.
