Alien Front was a planned port of Alien Front Online for the Sega Dreamcast. This port was going to be developed and published by Sega, which had developed and published games for the N-gage.

annoucement

On February 9, 2004, Nokia and Sega had announced that they would port two branded titles onto the N-gage. Alien Front, which was originally released on the Sega Dreamcast and 'Virtua Cop' (originally on the Sega Saturn) were announced with Spring 2004 release dates. Those ports would be dummied down.

Gameplay

Gameplay footage obtained by IGN showed that you would be able to fight off aliens as humans in a certain time frame. As humans, you needed to destroy as many alien ships as possible while defending an objective. It is not whether this port would allow you to play as aliens like the Dreamcast version did. It was also stated that you would be able to play online through the Nokia N-gage Arnea.

cancellation

As the release date for Alien Front came and went, it was never released. There is no official statement from Sega as to why this port was cancelled. Many point out the fact that the Nokia N-gage did not sell well and this may have caused the cancellation of the port. The port was speculated to have been complete as details like an MRSP, an ESRB rating, and gameplay were all released.
