Beck (partially found music videos from American musician; 1993-2006)
Beck is a popular musician that has made many music videos to promote his singles and albums. Because he often records with small, independent companies, the videos he records often don't get aired on MTV or published on YouTube. As a result, many have not resurfaced online yet.
There were videos made for Beck's first two singles, "MTV Makes Me Want To Smoke Crack" and "Steve Threw Up". Steve Hanft, the director of these videos and Beck's friend, said he'd upload them online. However, they still haven't resurfaced.
A video was prepared to promote the song "Schmoozer" on the album Golden Feelings. Following the release of the video for "Forcefield, " Beck announced that he'd put this video on his website. For whatever reason, this never happened.
Beck filmed a video for the song "Forcefield" to promote his album One Foot In The Grave. However, the video was never officially aired. It was posted on Beck's website years later. According to K Records owner Calvin Johnson, they filmed many videos to promote the album. This includes "Asshole", "Sleeping Bag", and "Burnt Orange Peel". These videos never aired either.
On Beck's first official studio album Mellow Gold, videos were made to promote the songs "Fuckin' With My Head (Mountain Dew Rock)", "Whiskeyclone, Hotel City 1997", and "Steal My Body Home". Though the video for "Fuckin' With My Head (Mountain Dew Rock)" entered rotation on MTV, the other videos were never aired despite being complete. The most likely explanation for this is that the singles from the album "Pay No Mind (Snoozer)" and "Beercan" was not as successful as the record label DGC had hoped, and they cut promotion for the album. This is possible because the label would repeat this on Weezer's sophomore LP "Pinkerton" two years later.
The only videos that have been released are "Forcefield" and "Fuckin' With My Head (Mountain Dew Rock)". It is unlikely that the rest of these videos will resurface for years, due to Beck's drastic change of style since these times.
