Boone (partially found drama TV series; 1983-1984)
Boone was a short-lived drama series that aired on NBC from September 26, 1983, until August 11, 1984. Created by Earl Hamner the same person behind the hit tv show The Waltons, each episode was an hour-long. Boone was about a boy named Boone Sawyer a teenage boy in Tennessee as he aspired to be an Elvis-like rock star at the dawn of rock and roll to the dismay of his parents. While Boone initially achieved, it eventually found itself against other popular dramas and was canceled after thirteen episodes. No episodes have since emerged.
Set in post-war Nashville, Boone revolved around a teenage boy named Boone Sawyer (Tom Byrd) as he aims to be a rock star. Coming from a blue-collar family, they do not approve of Boone's ambitions. Each episode also had Boone singing a country and a rock song.
Syndication and cancelation
Boone aired on NBC as apart of their Fall lineup of television shows on September 26, 1983, and was initially a success. However, later on Boone found itself against other popular drama television shows such as Scarecrow and Mrs. King. As the show's ratings plummeted, ideas were thrown around by creator Eral Hammer to just interrogate the cast into The Waltons. The cast's agents told the cast to distance themselves from Boone, killing off any chances of a second season or an integration into the The Waltons.
Due to the fall from grace, the show experienced during its syndication, no re-runs or home media of Boone have been released. The only piece of media from Boone to surf is the show's intro.
