Cap'n O. G. Readmore's Jack and the Beanstalk is a rare ABC Weekend Specials episode and as well as the first episode of the ABC Weekend Specials host Cap'n O. G. Readmore. It is based on the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk. The special aired in October 12, 1985, on ABC.
Plot
The plot of the back cover of the 1993 VHS release says (It's hard to make out but here's what I've gathered - RetroGameFan9000, aka Ethan M. Nelson):
"Cap'n O. G. Readmore and his friends, Kitty Literature, Ol' Tome Cat, Wordsy, Lickety Page and Dog-Eared, hold their Friday Night Book Club meeting in an alley next to the public library. When members of the Book Club start to poke fun at some of the characters from their favorite fairy tales, the bookshelves part and Cap'n O. G. is confiscated by those some characters. Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) challenges Cap'n O. G. to take his place in the story. When the Cap'n accepts, the fun begins!"
Availability
Only VHS releases, a Korean DVD release, cels, a few newspaper ads, and voice actors for the episode exists, and no footage of this special have been uploaded on the Internet.
Between September 18, and September 22, YouTube user SIlverZeo88 uploaded the special in 2 parts and was put on DeviantArt (the videos were privated and only accessible by his page).
As of June 7, 2017, the full special (in one cut) has been uploaded to YouTube by user kingdrewski9000.
