Some speculate that the cancellation was due to the fact that the software may have been outdated and not compatible with the new hardware.

Status: Lost

ClayFighter: Call of Putty is a vaporware game created by Interplay Entertainment for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii which was a planned sequel to the fighting game series Clayfighter. It was created for the return of the ClayFighter series and is an updated version of ClayFighter: Sculptor's Cut.[1]

Premise

There were a few things planned for the game, but most of it is unknown. It was planned to have a story mode, training mode, a multiplayer mode, and Claytalities.[2]

Roster

In November 2010, Nintendo Power showed the roster of the game which is the following:

  • Bad Mr. Frosty
  • Kung Pow
  • High Five
  • Bonker
  • Lady Liberty
  • Sumo Santa
  • Earthworm Jim
  • Boogerman
  • Houngan
  • Dr. Kiln
  • Lockjaw Pooch
  • Ickybod Clay
  • Blob
  • Taffy
  • Hoppy
  • Zappa Yow Yow boys

Cancellation

The game was originally announced in 2009 and was planned for a late 2010/early 2011 release for the Nintendo DSi and Nintendo Wii. However, it was canceled due to 2011 being the year that these consoles were retired so that Nintendo could work on their newer consoles, the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U. Nintendo gave no official word for its cancellation.

Some speculate that the cancellation was due to the fact that the software may have been outdated and not compatible with the new hardware.
