The MAME project has a list of the known Gamate game names and serial numbers

https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/hash/gamate.xml

I notice some conflicts between this table and their documentation.

A good example is "Fortress of Fierceness". We mark it as C-1039. We claim that C-1051 is a game with an unknown title

However, as of right now, MAME marks "Fortress of Fierceness" as C-1051. MAME claims that C-1039 is a game called "Column #5", which may not have been released.

It is possible that MAME has it wrong. The Gamate is very obscure, and it would be easy to get numbers mixed up. It's even possible that Bit Corp wasn't consistent with their own printing of cartridge serial numbers.

However, given that MAME is one of the largest and most-experienced videogame archiving projects, I would consider them a major authority on this. I don't see a source for our own table, so I don't know if that came from a more reliable source. We may want to consider reworking our table to match the MAME XML.
