The good news is that I think I grabbed most of the absurdly rare tapes before the audio broke. The tapes "Ripley's Believe It or Not" tape is done, and I have seen it sitting on eBay for $300-$450 for awhile now. The "Are you Afraid of the Dark?: Tale of the Phantom Manor" tape is done, and I have seen that for over $100. The "Tales from the Crypt If Wishes were Hornets" is done, and that one usually sits above $100. The "Spiderman: For King and Country" tape is done, and that one tends to sit above $100. And best of all, we got the holy grail that is "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Attack of the 100 Foot Teenagers".

So, it turns out that they had 43 out of 44 tapes recorded. The only one they were missing was "Safety First", one of the Scholastic Series tapes. Unfortunately, I say "had" because the pages are no longer playing the audio. The little flash widget claims to be loading, but it just hangs. It looks like it was reaching over to the site retrouprising.com for some materials, possibly including the audio. I was able to access the files as recently as Dec 11. Also, the way it was configured means that the Wayback Machine was not able to archive them.

Now, I don't know whether the site is truly dead. It was undergoing maintenance early this year, so it may be about to undergo maintenance again. I'll keep an eye on it, and hopefully it will be working again soon.

The Scholastic Series tapes will probably still be hard to find, but they may not be considered as valuable by collectors. It seems that they love the TV/Book licenses.
