The Dove Awards are awards given to achievements in the Christian music industry, similar to the Grammys. During the 27th and 28th Annual Dove Awards, Big Idea Entertainment, creator of the hit children's series VeggieTales, was given the Dove Award for Children's Music Album of the Year, one in 1996 or 1997 for their album, "A Very Veggie Christmas".[1] Both Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber made appearances (in CGI form) at the show to accept the awards in 1996 and 1997.

Availability

The two segments from the show were previously only available in audio form from an older version of ultimateveggie.com, a VeggieTales fansite.[2] A list of Dove Awards DVDs suggest that video footage exists on the DVDs for the 1996 and 1997 shows.[3]

On 29 Oct 2020, Racelympics has bought the 1996 27th Annual Awards DVD containing the actual footage for Bob & Larry's first Dove Awards appearance, and Mr. Lunch has uploaded it to YouTube. Now only the other segment (likely the 1997 28th Dove Awards show with appearances by Gary Chapman, Andrew Thompson & Bob & Larry) remains.
