Status: Lost

East of the Sun and West of the Moon was a planned film adaptation of the Norwegian fairy tale of the same name that was to be made by Don Bluth.

The film began production sometime after the completion of The Secret of NIMH. Ultimately, the production was cancelled due to a loss of financial backing. A couple of stills that were leaked could indicate that the film was heavily into production at the time of its cancellation. It is currently unknown if there was any animation or voice work done for the film before the production was closed.

As of 2017, the only material to the film that can be seen is a concept art and a couple of production stills.
