The Hobbit is a trilogy of high fantasy adventure films based on the J. R. R. Tolkien novel of the same name., In an effort to improve the film viewing experience, Jackson filmed the entire trilogy in 48 frames per second (FPS), double the industry standard of 24 FPS. Despite his efforts the high-frame-rate (HFR) versions never received a home media release and remain lost.

R.U.R. (Rossumovi Univerzální Roboti) is a science-fiction drama play written by Karel Čapek. A Czech Republic work established in 1920, the play is historic for inventing the English word "robot". In 1938, the BBC adapted the play to television, which is considered by some sources as the earliest science-fiction television program. The BBC also broadcast another adaptation of the play in 1948.

The show was held at in the prestigious boy school's auditorium, Roxburgh Hall in front of the student audience., On 4th April 2023, 60 years after the performance, BBC News reported that a tape of the concert had been unearthed.
