John Smith: Special Agent is a original version of the 1992 NES version of James Bond Jr. The game is a side scrolling 2D action platformer developed by Eurocom. After the game was finished and according to the programmer Chris Shrigley, they were unable to find a buyer. The game was picked up by THQ and reworked into the James Bond Jr.

The source code of the version was leaked online, a prototype was also has been found and then sell on eBay in November 2015 by the Nolan Brothers. As of November 6, 2015, a ROM of the original version was yet to be released.[1]

In March 10, 2016, a The Cutting Room Floor user TheBluegeek managed to compile it into a working ROM.[2]
