The original title for 1946 short The Mouse-Merized Cat, although from a 16mm print. '"`UNIQ--ref-00000000-QINU`"'

Status: Partially Found

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies were widely-popular short animated subjects created by Warner Brothers, being released from 1929 to 1969. However, in September 1943, Warner Brothers began re-releasing various shorts from 1935 to 1948 as 'Blue Ribbons'. These replaced the original titles of the short being reissued. In their place, the Merrie Melodies logo was displayed on a red background with a blue ribbon (hence the name of 'Blue Ribbon') and a trophy for the Grand Shorts Award. Then, on the same background, the title of the short would be displayed. The versions with the original titles are now hard to find and can only be discovered through duplicates, due to Warner Brothers directly splicing the Blue Ribbon titles into the original negative of the shorts that were reissued.[2]
