Status: Partially Lost

Lostprophets were a Welsh rock band formed in 1997 and disbanded in 2012, releasing five albums throughout their career.

The band was comprised of Vocalist Ian Watkins, Lead Guitarist Lee Gaze, Rhythm Guitarist Mike Lewis, Bassist Stuart Richardson, Keyboardist Jamie Oliver and multiple drummers over their existence.

Background

Lostprophets started writing material for their fourth album in 2006, while touring to support Liberation Transmission, their third album. They debuted several songs live, and recorded what was intended to be their next album in mid 2007 to early 2008 with producer John Feldmann. But, once the sessions were completed, the band were unsatisfied with the results and scrapped them, despite them costing around $500,000.

The eventual fourth album, The Betrayed, went through several more delays before finally being released in January 2010.

Availability

While The Betrayed is still available, the scrapped sessions are partially lost. It is unknown how many songs were recorded in these sessions, But several were re-recorded for The Betrayed and some made the deluxe edition of the band's fifth and final album, Weapons. Other than the already released music, it is unlikely for any of these to released in any way, due to the band's frontman, Ian Watkins, being charged with numerous sexual offences against children, and the remainder of the band having no desire to promote Lostprophets music because of this.
