Status: Partially found

Magical Suite Prism Nana is a series of anime OVAs (original video animations) produced by animation studio SHAFT, based off of a magical girl franchise. With a total of seven episodes announced, only three are known to have been in production, and of those three, only one episode has been fully found.

On August 1, 2012, SHAFT announced a new anime project with the codename Prism Nana Project on their official website. On August 10 at Comic Market 82, SHAFT would fully reveal it as Magical Suite Prism Nana, an anime revolving around three adolescent girls in a near-future setting. They would upload the trailer shown at Comic Market 82 on YouTube four days later on August 14. Between September 30, 2012, and April 23, 2013, SHAFT would upload pilot previews for all seven planned episodes on YouTube.

On July 30, 2015, SHAFT would reannounce the anime project as an OVA series. Each episode would focus on the same three characters: Kotone Oribe (voiced by Eri Kitamura), Itaru Washioka (voiced by Suzuku Mimori), and Asuka Asagi (Asami Imai). However, each episode would have a different director and writer, who, using the show's "star system", would be given free reign on the episode's plot and art style. The original character designs were created by Kantoku, and the group Daisy × Daisy would perform the music for the series.

Availability

The first and second episodes were screened at live events in Japan in November 2015 and on April 16, 2016 respectively. The third episode was announced to be in production on October 16, 2016, with a music video previewing the episode.

While the second episode was uploaded to YouTube for a limited time to promote a live stage adaptation of its story (and was promptly archived by fans), the first episode has seen no form of release outside of its initial live screening in Japan. It is unknown if the third episode was released at all, and no information regarding the remaining four episodes exists, and it is unknown if they even entered production.
