Each individual video was named after its corresponding episode ("Mentally Advanced Series Ep1," "Mentally Advanced Series Ep2," "Mentally Advanced Series Ep3," and so on, up to "Mentally Advanced Series Ep12" - but skipping "Ep11," since the 11th episode of the Mentally Advanced Series was never finished). It is unknown whether additional copies may have been uploaded at any point, but there were still 11 copies in the creator's playlist as of April 24, 2014.

The reason for their removal is unknown, since this animation is one of the only two entirely original fan animations that seem to have been removed from Dawn Something's YouTube channel (the other being the Cookie Train Album video). Other removed videos that did not feature original animations (such as the original Mentally Advanced episodes) have been preserved and reuploaded by fans and/or are available on the creator's website, but this does not seem to be the case for these videos. No additional copies of the animation appear to exist, and the only records of its actual visual content that still remain are four screenshots from the animator's DeviantArt page.
Though at least one of the videos may have still been accessible as recently as September 24, 2014 ([http://twitter.com/Brandie_100/statuses/514957502895517696 this tweet] appears to indicate that "Mentally Advanced Series Ep12" was liked on that date), and Patreon creation pages (under the name "Gregory Hoffman") still exist for them as well, attempting to access any of them now returns the message "This video does not exist." The reason for their removal is unknown, since this animation is one of only two entirely original fan animations that seem to have been removed from FiMFlamFilosophy's YouTube channel (the other is the Cookie Train Album video) and the rest are still there. Other removed videos that did not feature original animations (such as the non-negatively-numbered episodes of the Mentally Advanced Series itself) have been preserved and reuploaded by fans and/or are available on the creator's website, but this does not seem to be the case for these videos or the Cookie Train Album video. Thus, no additional copies of the animation appear to exist, and the only records of its actual visual content that still remain are four screenshots from the animator's DeviantArt page (links are provided in the "External links" section of this article).

== Context ==

The Mentally Advanced Series is an abridged series based on the television series [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Magic My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic] and created by FiMFlamFilosophy (a.k.a. Greg Hoffman), whose YouTube channel now goes by the name [https://www.youtube.com/user/FiMFlamFilosophy Dawn Somewhere] and has ~170000 subscribers as of February 2017. It was originally done in the typical abridged series style, in which actual animation from the original TV series is edited and redubbed with parodic dialogue, but was later revised to only use screenshots from the TV series after episodes began to get hit with Content ID claims (preventing the creator from monetizing them).

The earlier episodes were subsequently pulled from the creator's channel and reuploaded to his own website, [http://www.dawnsomewhere.com/ dawnsomewhere.com]. '''Several copies of the lost animation which is the subject of this article were uploaded to the YouTube channel as a means of directing people to the site in order to view them.''' (Each copy had a different line of poetry at the end.) Later, the screenshot-style episodes were hit with Content ID claims as well, and the creator pulled the entire remaining abridged series from his channel. He later began [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6109C69F1D59ACD9 a reboot of the series], featuring negatively-numbered episodes with entirely original animation as well as dialogue.

Since the Dawn Somewhere website's redesign, the original episodes are no longer available there - and not all of them ever were, anyway - but nearly every main episode of the original series has been reuploaded [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbr-HVHOIZZssp-9YhtFJB9Jtk91lMS8i here] (the linked playlist has every main episode except for episode 11, but additional copies have been sporadically uploaded on other channels by other fans as well). A screen capture of a livestream containing an incomplete version of episode 11 (the incomplete version is all that was ever created, as it was eventually scrapped and the creator moved on to episode 12) can be found [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6wkgdpcXXM here]. Two lesser-known shorts have also been reuploaded - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6luDEF1VK8s Spike's Moment] - which was created as a preliminary test to gauge response for the screenshot-style videos - and [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfB08MmIbIA Pinkie P - Pie in the Sky], a music video with a song by one character from the abridged series.

Though both this lost animation and a video titled [[Coal-Powered Cookie Train Album Release (Animated Video)|Coal-Powered Cookie Train Album Release]] were original animations and thus were presumably not hit with Content ID claims, they were nevertheless removed from the creator's channel at some point for unknown reasons. Though, as mentioned above, all other Mentally-Advanced-Series-related videos have been reuploaded and preserved elsewhere, these two lost animations are nowhere to be found.

Status: Lost

The Mentally Advanced Series is an abridged internet series based on the television series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, created by FiMFlamFilosophy (a.k.a. Greg Hoffman), whose YouTube channel Dawn Somewhere[1] has over 176,000 subscribers as of July 2017.

"Mentally Advanced Series Redirect Animation" (The actual title is unknown) is a 2 minute, 44-second animation of which at least 11 copies[2] was posted to YouTube by Dawn Somewhere on January 27, 2013. The purpose of these videos was to redirect users to Dawn's official website,[3] in order to watch episodes of the Mentally Advanced Series that had been removed from YouTube due to its Content ID system. Each individual video was named after its corresponding episode ('Mentally Advanced Series Ep1', 'Mentally Advanced Series Ep2', ect.). However, these videos have since disappeared entirely.

Plot

According to the My Little Pony Fan Labor Wikia, each of the redirect videos featured an identical animation by Rainbow Dash Presents,[4] artist Petirep.[5] The plot focused on Fluttershy attempting to get an orangutan dressed as a cop and named 'YouTube' to post her valentine that read 'To All My Friends on YouTube!' on its refrigerator; but instead the orangutan took the valentine to be burned by another orangutan named 'Mr. Moneybags'. 'YouTube' and Mr. Moneybags's then eat a hamburger, an inside joke to FimFlamFilosophy's Coal-Powered Cookie Train Album Release (Animated Video)|Cookie Train Album ad, in which the same orangutan cop accused Dash of being the 'Hamburgerlar' and confiscated her hamburgers. Each of the redirect videos featured a unique line of poetry ending with 'Nothing's perfect in life.'

Availability

Though at least one of the videos may have still been accessible as recently as September 24, 2014,[6] and Patreon creation pages under the name "Gregory Hoffman" still exist for them as well, attempting to access any of the animations now shows that the video is unavailable.
