This pilot episode rather than Cookie had a character called "Boogie" , played by Stephen Markarian then later re-casted as Albert Wormenheimer in the show. They decided to re-cast the character now as "Cookie" and was given to Daniel Curtis Lee, to show racial diversity in the school, resulting in an unaired episode titled ''Ned's Locker''. After said episodes were created, production was stopped one year. The pilot was a success, so the series was picked up for a 13-episode season.
