Oraa Guzura dado (おらぁグズラだど Hey, I'm Guzura!) is a 1967 black and white anime series directed by Hiroshi Sasagawa and produced by Tatsunoko Productions. It also had a Manga adaptation and some Sonosheets. In 1987, the series was remade in color.

1967 Anime

The original series aired from October 7th, 1967, till September 25th, 1968, and got 103 segments in 52 episodes. The series was also animated in black and white. It is the last black and white anime produced by Tatsunoko production. It is said that the series was made to cash in on the gag anime boom that started with “Q-Taro the Ghost.” The series was not very successful, and it only got a few toys and merchandise. In 1971, the series got launched in Brazil and was renamed Guzula,[1] and there it was still a tiny bit successful, but not as successful as other animes like Perman. There were two Brazilian dubs, one made by Cinecastro and the other made by ACI-SP.

The series was very low budget and often had to reuse frames.

The series is considered partially lost. Tatsunoko Productions have all the episodes, but has never reaired on Television or shared online. Some episodes are available on DVD but are not known to be available on the internet. Most Episodes of this series were only found via the 1971 Brazilian dub, which has had episodes uploaded to YouTube. but still, there are episodes missing. But recently the Japanese YouTuber mashi posted the first episode of the 1967 series dubbed in Japanese (which he had uploaded before but deleted-it) making it the only available episode in Japanese of Oraa Guzura Dado.

Manga

The manga was launched first as Onboro Kaijū Kuzura (オンボロ怪獣クズラ Wacky Monster Kuzura) on March 13, 1966 in the Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine, the first chapters with that name had diffrent character designs, then after some chapters the designs were changed and the name of the manga was changed to Oraa Guzura Dado. Volumes and Re-realeses of the manga are available to buy in amazon and in some Japanese sites despite that no one ever scaned them on the internet. Diffrent users usually post photos of the manga[2] but as said never take photos of the full manga or scan-it, There are also diffrent versions of the manga that include new chapters with new stories, such as the "Yoko" magazine realese for younger children and the "Hakushon Daimao" realese

1987 Anime

This series aired from October 12th, 1987, till September 20th, 1988, and got 88 segments in 44 episodes. For some reason, not every episode was remade. Because this was only a color remake of the original series they didn't have to make new plots. They fully redrew most of the scenes but some times they just redrew over the original frames, This series was also dubbed in various languages, in Arabic, Italian (1 episode found), French (only a clip found) and Hindi.

Status

Like the other series, the Japanese dub is lost (It was the same dub because the series was only a remake/colorization of the other series) but there is one clip of the dub available on the internet, and almost every episode is available on the internet dubbed in arabic[3], but episodes 33 and 36 are lost because the Arabic dub didn't include them, probably because of the content, that's likely because one of the segments in those episodes "Guzura and Lucifer!" is said to be about Guzura dying and going to hell but in the end he returns, some people from countries on that episode aired mistook that as the final episode, and majority of dubs are lost
