Os Amigos Vegetais was a live action Brazilian television program based on the Christian video series VeggieTales. In 1997, VeggieTales launched in Brazil as Os Vegetais, and the popularity of this led to Top Tape wanting to produce a spin-off series, named Os Amigos Vegetais in partnership with Big Idea Brasil and Universal Pictures. The series aired 11 one-hour episodes on Rede Record in March 2005 and reached third place in network ratings. The show was directed and produced by Marlene Mattos, who was also the producer of Xuxa.
